BRAMPTON - A football field in the northeast end of the city will be named after Roger Peddle, city councillors have decided. A Kiwanian and local volunteer, Peddle died suddenly last year of a heart attack just shy of his 58th birthday. Roger Peddle Field will be located at the Creditview and Sandalwood Sports Park. Peddle loved football and he served as a director and vice-president of the Ontario Amateur Football Association (1977-1987), and a director of the Canadian Amateur Football Association (1982-1984). "He started football in the City of Brampton," Brampton Mayor Susan Fennell said. He was president and vice-president of Brampton Minor Football, owned the Brampton Satellites football team, and served as director and chairman of the Brampton Sports Hall of Fame.
