Two trapped in rolled over car on Financial Drive

BRAMPTON - Two people had to be cut out of a car that rolled over on Financial Drive Thursday morning, but they did not suffer any injuries, according to Peel police.

Their car slid on ice and rolled over, trapping them, just after 7:30 a.m. south of Steeles Avenue West near Mississauga Road.

Brampton firefighters had to rescue the pair from the wreckage, but they were not injured.

Police are warning motorists to be careful of unexpected ice on local streets. They said daytime runoff is wetting some area roads, and colder temperatures at night freeze the water, leaving patches of ice.

However, one resident in the area complained to the city last fall that dirt piled up at the corner of Steeles and Financial has created a drainage problem and the street is "an ice rink" each year because of it.
