BRAMPTON - Mississauga – Officers in the Major Collision Bureau are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian dies in hospital.
On Wednesday August 6, 2008 at approximately 9:21 a.m., the victim, a 60 year old Mississauga man, was walking northbound in the east cross walk of Deer Run at Rathburn Road West, in the City of Mississauga.
At the same time a van southbound on Deer Run Court attempted a left turn onto Rathburn Road. The van struck the victim knocking him to the ground. He was transported to a G.T.A. trauma center where he succumbed to his injuries at approximately 10:20 pm on Thursday August 7, 2008.
The victim’s name will not be released to respect family’s wishes.
The investigators have spoken to the driver of the van and witnesses. They believe there are more witnesses to this collision and would like them to come forward with any information they may have.
