BRAMPTON - The Brampton Gord's Basemen Waterproofing Peewee 2 Excelsiors lacrosse team has found its groove, winning three of its past four outings.The Excelsiors reeled off three straight wins in recent league action to improve to 8-2 on the season, before falling 7-4 to Mimico 1.The Excelsiors had a relative easy time downing Oakville 2 9-1 and Halton Hills 2 10-2 before edging the same Halton Hills squad 5-3 in a rematch.Travis Burton scored four times in the rout of Oakville while Jack Patrick, Daniel Sarna, Marc-Robert Graham, Jesse Soares and Tyrus Rehanek chipped in singles. Graham chipped in with a pair of assists while Burton and Patrick helped out with a couple.Josh Medeiros held the hot hand in the 10-2 win over Halton Hills. Connor McClelland and Rehanek each chipped in with a pair while Michael Zeno and Sarna added singles. Rehanek and McClelland each picked up four assists while Jason Walker added a pair. Medeiros, Marc-Robert Graham and Soares drew assists.Medeiros had a pair of goals in the rematch while McClelland, Brad Cooper and Graham chipped in singles. Rehanek set up three while McClelland was credited with two assists. Burton added a single helper.Medeiros scored twice in the loss to Mimico with McClelland and Jeffrey Teat chipping in singles. Sarna picked up two assists while Michael Zeno, Graham, Samuel Postma and Rehanek added singles.The Brampton Coldwell Banker Innovators Realty Novice 1 Excelsiors split a pair of league contests with Mimico, suffering a 9-3 loss in the first contest before rebounding for a 4-3 victory in the backend of the home-and-home.Jason Walker scored twice in the 9-3 loss while Jake Boudreau chipped in a single.Andy Borgatti paced the Brampton attack with a pair of goals in the 4-3 win. Walker and Michael Harris netted the others. Harris, James Whiteford and Riley Curtis picked up assists.The Novice 1 Excelsiors also dropped a 6-5 decision to Orangeville. Beisel, Walker, Whiteford, Justin Stevens and Samuel Duchesne each scored once. Walker chipped in three assists while Stuart Burke and Ethan MacKinnon added single helpers.The Brampton Trinity Communications Midget 2 Excelsiors split a pair of decisions with Orangeville in league play. The Excelsiors fell 11-2 to Orangeville 2 and rebounded for a 7-4 win over Orangeville 3.They also lost a 7-2 decision to Oakville.Dustin Mclean and Will Vander Wier scored for Brampton in the 11-2 loss while Travis Wood picked up the lone assist.Billy MacNutt scored twice and assisted on two more in the 7-4 win. Nathan Mol also had a four-point game, with a goal and three assists. Other marksmen were Theo Solade, Vaner Wier, Shawn Duncan and Andrew Myers. Adam Anthony picked up a single assist.Solate and MacNutt scored in the loss to Oakville while Mol and Jordan Burlock picked up assists.
