BRAMPTON - McHugh Public School students Dwayne White and Junior Malcolm are making significant leadership contributions at the local elementary school.
The two Grade 5 students have been helping run the school's Snack Bag program. Dwayne and Junior are responsible for packing the snack bags, delivering the bags to students participating in the program, checking attendance and reporting any problems. The boys are punctual, responsible and able to problem-solve when difficulties arise, such as missing spoons or punctured drink-boxes. About 25 students depend on Dwayne and Junior every day for a healthy, mid-morning snack.
The program is financially supported by Breakfast for Kids through the City of Brampton and parent volunteers prepare the breakfast items before school.
